LURGAN, NORTHERN IRELAND – R.G. Hardie & Co. was honoured to support the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Northern Ireland (RSPBA NI) Branch, Co. Down Section in their efforts to raise funds for their 2014 elected charity, the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice. R.G. Hardie & Co donated a set of Peter Henderson PH01 Bagpipes in support of a raffle draw, tickets for which attracted donations from Northern Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Denmark, South Korea and the USA.

Ticket sales from donors at home and abroad, along with donations from private companies, enabled to the RSPBA NI to present the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice with an overall donation of £2,500 ($4,455 USD).

“The Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice relies almost entirely on voluntary donations to operate,” said Janey Doyle, the hospice’s fundraising coordinator. “We provide care for 293 children every year in Northern Ireland, and the donation the RSPBA NI has made today will enable us to provide respite and care for 5 life-limited children and their families. Respite and care they would not receive otherwise.”

The prize set of Peter Henderson PH01 Bagpipes went to piper Philip Spears of Killen, Co. Armagh.

Alastair Dunn, Managing Director of R.G. Hardie & Co, make the special presentation and say a few words during the Craigavon & District Championships finale on Saturday, 21 June 2014.

The team at R.G. Hardie & Co. would like to thank all of our fantastic patrons who took the time to donate and help support this wonderful cause.
