Our plastic lining system protects the inside of the wood from the stresses and strains caused by moisture. 
Most pipers will dry out their drones and cap their chanters but few will take out the blowpipe to remove moisture from the blowpipe and stock. This causes problems as the hemp will swell, increasing the pressure in the joint and potentially split the wood. Our plastic lining system solves the problem by increasing the internal strength of the stock to cope with the increase in pressure in the joint. The lining in the blowpipe will prevent moisture touching the wood and provide a better seal with the blowpipe valve.
Plastic lined blowpipes and blowpipe stocks are now available in all our Blackwood R. G Hardie Bagpipes and Peter Henderson Bagpipes.
